Contract period: 1 year renewable or as short as 6 months-for a short term applicant who intends to go home for Christmas
Pastry Chef Baker Job Description
Applicant for the position of Pastry Chef / Baker /Cook should have the following qualification to work with an International food franchise Coffee & Pizza company operating a small food commissary having 4 full time staff serving 5 stores in Hainan. China:
3-5 years job experience as a Pastry Chef/Baker/Cook in a 5 star hotel/restaurant producing Western artisan style breads, cakes, cookies etc.
Must be a self-starter and be able and willing to create desserts which are appealing to the mid- upper Chinese market. (for examples of our work please see our online menu at: www.emperorfoods.cn )
Must be able to lead and manage a team of 4 Cooks/Bakers (Chinese)
Be knowledgeable of food handling and health and hygiene norms and be able to manage and maintain all food safety standards.
Must manage and calculate food costs /create SOP’s. Knowledgeable in in Word & Excel
Must possess the skills required to create an attractive dessert menu for a branded coffee shop operation
Have cooking skills and be able to assist in creating Western food menu items for our frozen boil bag menu concept.
This position is also reasonsible for cooking the meals for the 5 person employee commissary. Make sure you reference this ability in your application.
