He or she will have across the board responsibilities to all matters that relate to the Sales & Marketing Department of the Hotel reporting to the General Manager. 


Director of Sales & Marketing job Position summary: 

– Responsible for establishing and directing the Sales and Marketing activities including advertising and public relations. 
– Set and meet the objectives, sales target and budgeted revenue 
– Monitor and control the database of the hotel ensuring its regular update and maintenance 
– In charge of the various sales offices. Also in charge of sales activities generated on Hotel’s behalf from GSAs or representative offices worldwide 
– Produce monthly Management reports and sales forecasts 
– Monitor current / potential market development, follow up on sales leads and formulate sound strategies to ensure continuous business growth 
– Create and develop special events and sales activities to showcase the property and facilities to potential clients 
– Review advertising, print and other media in accordance with the overall marketing plans 
– Attend trade shows and other events locally and abroad to promote business and increase sales 
– Recommend and implement procedures based on established policies 
– Drive and prepare the annual marketing plans and sales budget 
– Develop, energize and lead a motivated and competent team. 


Requirements for DOSM Director of Sales & Marketing job: 

– Diploma or Degree graduate in Hotel Management or Marketing or related field 
– Minimum 5 years in similar capacity or senior management position in a 5-star hotel environment 
– Fluency in English (spoken, written and comprehension). Additional foreign languages is an added advantage 
– Sound knowledge of Travel trade/Corporate/meetings / conventions / exhibition markets is essential. 
– Computer literate (Microsoft office) 
– Knowledge of Revenue Management, Electronic marketing is an added advantage 
– Possess exceptional people and leadership skills; dynamic personality must be friendly, pleasant 
– A team leader and a team player with positive, winning attitude 
– Must be a self starter 
– Proof of previous sales success 
– Strong Leadership skills 
– Excellent communication skills 
– Human resource management skills 
– Financial management skills 
– Good time management skills 
– Strategic planning skills are an asset
